Radio stations in the UK are regulated by law and GMG Radio is committed to ensuring full and complete compliance to all licensee requirements. The statutory regulator for all UK radio broadcast is OFCOM which awards licences and regulates content in accordance with the Broadcast Code.

All GMG Radio stations strive to operate within the conditions of its licence and the Code at all times and welcomes comments about its output. We endeavour to respond to all correspondence when required within a minimum of seven working days.

OFCOM also requires that we maintain this Public File which contains information about the provision of the Licensed Services in accordance with guidelines drawn up and from time to time revised by OFCOM. Highlights

Events and Charity Support

We often publicise events for charities on air and on our website. Specific support was given last year to Help For Heroes, with a special day of Broadcasting on November 9th 2009. A similar day of fundraising will take place in November 2010. Find out more

Smooth Radio london’s adopted charity for 2010 is Breast Cancer Care . Support is given throughout the year for example through our Starlight Supper in February. Find out more

Programming

  • 102.2 Smooth Radio is a station playing music from the present day, right back to classics from the 60s.
  • The Mark Goodier Morning Show from 10am until 1pm continues to attract the guests from the worlds of music, movies and TV.
  • London broadcasting legend Graham Dene presents the weekday Breakfast Show between 6 and 10am
  • Nationally known presenter, Andy Peebles, presents both weekday evenings and his specialist Soul Train on Saturdays
  • Other famous names at the weekend include Tony Blackburn and Pete Waterman
  • Smooth Radio London offers news coverage from our own Newsroom. and using the resources of our parent company GMG Radio, and Independent Radio News.

Complaints

Should you wish to complain about the station or anything related to its output please contact the Station Director with the details of your complaint. Your complaint will be acknowledged and a resolution will be sought within 10 days. You can make a further complaint if a resolution is not reached to OFCOM and/or the ASA (where applicable).
