How did you get into radio?
When I was in school, it became apparent that the one thing I was good at was talking!! (well that’s what my teacher’s kept telling me!) – so I decided radio was the future – I pestered radio station’s all over the country until someone spotted my youthful talent and after sending hundreds of letters and tapes, finally got a show in the early hours of the morning!
What’s the best thing about working for smooth radio?
Without doubt (and at the risk of sounding cheesy), I’ve got to honestly say it’s the listeners. I’ve been amazed at the fantastic reaction to everything we do and whatever time of day or night I’m on air, the reaction from the audience is truly amazing.
Tell me something interesting about you?
If you watch the movie Jaws from 1975, the scene where Roy Scheider sees what he believes is a shark about to attack the kids. There is a little boy of 12 who runs across the shot on the white sandy beach – well that’s me!
